NOBODY HAS TO KNOW

This is a film that nobody looking for 90 minutes of entertainment actually has to know.

Actor-director Bouli Lanners, a national treasure in the French-speaking part of Belgium, makes his English language debut behind the camera with Nobody Has To Know, a small-scale character drama about a Belgian in Scotland who gets amnesia and then falls in love with a local real estate agent, played by Game of Thrones' Michelle Fairley.

While the premise has potential Lanners fails to squeeze an ounce of interest out of it for the viewer. The narrative would be slight for a short film, let alone a feature, none of the subplots add anything substantial and the central mystery turns out to be a huge dud.

Exciting performances might have broken the tedium yet here Nobody Has To Know disappoints as well, with both Lanners and Fairley phoning in their performances and lacking any form of chemistry as an on-screen couple.

Combine this with visuals that even make the magnificent vistas of the Scottish highlands appear awfully dull and you're left with a film that - indeed - nobody looking for 90 minutes of entertainment has to know.
